Project Overview
Project Type: 3BHK Home Renovation
Area: 1,900 sq. ft.
Design Direction: Modern • Grand • Sophisticated • Functional • Budget-Conscious
Family: Young couple, child & pet
This 1,900 sq. ft. 3BHK home renovation was designed to transform a dated and visually disconnected residence into a cohesive, modern family home.
The existing interiors had strong orange, yellow, green and other contrasting wall colours, while several areas were underutilised and storage had not been planned efficiently. The homeowners wanted something very different—a home that felt modern, grand and sophisticated, but still remained practical for everyday family life and within a controlled budget.
The project became an exercise in balancing modern interior design, functionality, custom furniture and family-friendly planning.
The Design Brief
The clients came with references that clearly communicated their design preferences. They wanted a contemporary home with a grand visual character, while ensuring that every space remained useful and comfortable.
Their requirements included:
A statement TV unit
Comfortable sofa and centre table
Custom dining table and seating
Functional modular kitchen
Dedicated wash basin area
A separate mandir with a door
Improved storage
A concealed hidden-door solution for the corridor
A partition between the living and dining areas
Integrated bedroom furniture
Child-friendly furniture detailing
The clients also had a strong preference for green, which became an important accent within the home's overall colour palette.
Because the home was designed for a young family with a child and pet, the interiors also needed to support safe movement, comfortable circulation, practical storage and everyday usability.

Key Design Challenges
A Grand Entrance in a Small Space
With limited space at the entrance, adding bulky furniture was not an option. We designed a custom shoe cabinet with integrated seating, combined with fluted detailing and a personalised nameplate. This created a functional entrance while maintaining comfortable circulation.
From Disconnected to Cohesive
The original interiors used different strong colours across the rooms. We replaced this visual inconsistency with a more controlled palette built around marble-inspired textures and strategic green accents. The result is a home where individual rooms have their own character while still feeling connected.
Luxury Within a Controlled Budget
The goal was to create a grand appearance without relying on expensive finishes everywhere. Instead, the design focused on custom furniture, proportions, material selection and statement elements to create maximum visual impact where it mattered most.
Signature Design Elements
Custom Italian Marble Dining Table: The dining area features a custom round Italian marble table with an Indian-inspired artistic base.It brings together contemporary luxury and traditional character, creating one of the home's most distinctive features.
Hidden-Door Corridor: The corridor needed access to a storage area and washroom without visually interrupting the passage. A hidden-door solution was integrated into the wall treatment, allowing the doors to blend into the surrounding design when closed.
Living Room: The living room centres around a statement TV unit, comfortable seating and a carefully designed partition separating the living and dining areas. Marble-inspired finishes, clean geometry and controlled detailing create the grand yet uncluttered look the homeowners wanted.
Functional Kitchen & Mandir: The modular kitchen was planned around storage, workflow and everyday usability, while maintaining visual continuity with the rest of the home. A dedicated wash basin and enclosed mandir were also incorporated into the design, giving both spaces a defined identity without disrupting the overall aesthetic.
Family-Friendly Bedroom Design: The bedroom combines a wardrobe, dressing unit and TV unit into one cohesive furniture composition. Because the home has a young child, curved furniture detailing was used to reduce sharp edges while adding softness to the modern design.
Designed Around Family Life: This renovation was not only about creating a photogenic home. It was about making the space work for the family every day. The design considered:
Child-friendly furniture
Pet-friendly circulation
Accessible storage
Efficient space planning
Comfortable movement
Everyday functionality
The result balances modern design with practical family living.
The Outcome
The 1,900 sq. ft. home was transformed into a cohesive modern 3BHK residence designed around family life.
Custom furniture, thoughtful space planning and carefully selected materials gave the home its grand character without unnecessary visual or budgetary excess.
From the compact entrance and hidden corridor doors to the custom dining table and family-friendly bedroom furniture, every element was designed to serve a purpose.
